François Raoul Larche (1860-1912) Child's bust, presumed portrait of Marcel Lerolle Bronze with brown patina Signed and dated "RAOUL LARCHE 1889". H. 43 cm Dirt and dust This bust is believed to be a portrait of Marcel Lerolle (1881- 1956), a child of a family of artists, craftsmen and collectors close to the painters Auguste Renoir and Edgar Degas. Raoul Larche created the model for this bust in 1889, shortly after completing his training at the Écoles des Beaux-Arts under François Jouffroy and Alexandre Falguière.
