Adrien Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902) Marguerite Bronze with light-brown patina Signed "A. GAUDEZ Inscribed in a cartouche on the front "MARGUERITE / PAR A. GAUDEZ / HORS CONCOURS H. 61 cm Born in Lyon, Adrien Etienne Gaudez studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under François Jouffroy. He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1854 onwards, and at the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900. He took on numerous public commissions, in particular for the city of Paris, decorating the Petit Palais and the gardens of Parc Monceau.
