H. 47 cm, standing on a marble pedestal H. 14 cm Inspired by a young child he met in the streets of Rome in 1875, Injalbert chose this subject for his compulsory third-year "tête d'étude" submission to the Académie. This theme occupied the artist between 1875 and 1927, and he used the model in a variety of mediums and dimensions.
