H. 38.5 cm In 1868, at the request of the publisher Goupil, Alexandre Falguière reworked the figure of Phryné in front of the Areopagus painted by Jean-Léon Gérôme and presented at the 1861 Salon. For the bronze and ivory edition of this figure, Falguière's plaster model was subsequently retouched by Gérôme.
