Mercié / d'après Gérôme Bears the founder's mark "GOUPIL & CIE EDITEURS". H. 43 cm, on a red marble base H. 4 cm Around 1875, Antonin Mercié created the statuettes Danse du ventre and Danse du sabre after Jean-Léon Gérôme's painting L'Almée presented at the 1864 Salon (now at the Dayton Art Institute).
