Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875) Juno Model created circa 1840; early cast circa 1880 Bronze with shaded brown-green patina Signed "BARYE Stamped "PEYROL H. 27.7 x W. 14.6 x D. 12 cm Along with Minerva and Venus, the figure of Juno is part of a group forming one of the classically inspired nine-light candelabra made to adorn the mantelpiece of the Duc de Montpensier around 1840. Around 1865, Antoine-Louis Barye made Juno an independent work. The isolated model was later published by the Peyrol foundry.
