In-12 bound in full contemporary calf, covers richly decorated with a plate bearing the royal coat of arms, spelled out with the royal monogram, surrounded by 4 oval medallions: n head the passion cross, on the left 2 crossed canes and a floral bouquet, on the right a crossed ladder and pike in front of a column surmounted by a rooster, on the tail an angel with spread wings unfolding the shroud of Christ, all on a background of floral motifs, spine ribbed decorated with 5 fleur-de-lys, chain on the cups, roulette on the chasses - beginning of fragility at the head of the second spinexvi pp. (title, epistle to the Queen, to holy souls, preface), 302 pp, [2 ff. privilege]. Illustrated with a frontispiece engraved by J. B. de Poilly, after Cochin, and 8 pll. h-t representing stations 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9and10 of the Stations of the Cross (complete).
