Horst Egon KALINOWSKI (1924-2013) Grillagerie, 1961 Collage of textile elements glued to cut-out and painted paper, pasted on paper, signed, dated and located in Paris lower right on the mounting sheet and titled lower left. Small tear on mounting sheet. Collage: 18 x 55.5 cm Mounting: 50 x 65 cm Provenance: Daniel Cordier Collection, Paris. Label from the DBC [Daniel Bouyjou-Cordier] collection with inventory number on the back. Born in Düsseldorf in 1924, Horst Egon KALINOWSKI came to Paris in 1950 and continued his training at La Grande Chaumière, in Jean Dewasne's abstract art studio. A genius at collage, he rigorously selects the materials meticulous technique, Kalinowski first excelled in works on paper. Daniel Cordier, who exhibited his work in his gallery from 1958, was his greatest supporter.
