Attributed to CARTIER - Evening bag in two-tone 18K gold 750‰, the black-enameled frame trimmed with geometric-patterned spandrels set with rose-cut diamonds. Flap clasp with Persian decoration (in cloud neck) set with rose-cut diamonds. Fitted with a silk cord adorned with fluted onyx sliders and rouelles set with rose-cut diamonds. In the center, a black enameled plate studded with a "PMP" numeral and stamped with a county crown, all set with rose-cut diamonds. Suedette purse lined with moiré silk, beige. Engraved "August 31, 1924" on the frame. French work, hallmarked Gustave Renault (1870-1927), jewelry maker for Cartier. Numbered 0320. Accidents, stains and missing parts. Approx. 13 x 17.50 cm Gross weight 196 g The PMP number allows us to attribute this evening bag to Marie-Blanche, comtesse de Polignac (1897-1958), famous singer and daughter of Jeanne Lanvin, whose marriage took place on April 28, 1924.
