H. 16.5 x W. 28 x D. 11 cm Trained at the École municipale de dessin de Bordeaux, then at the Écoles des Beaux-Arts de Paris in Alexandre Falguière's studio, Lucien Schnegg shared a studio with his brother, Gaston, at 40, rue Dutot. Here, they welcomed young sculptors such as Charles Despiau, Robert Wlérick and Jane Poupelet. This group of artists, close to Auguste Rodin and known as "La Bande à Schnegg", was distinguished by its rejection of official art and its quest for independent, balanced sculpture.
