Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) Christ on the cross Bronze proof with light brown patina shaded with green. Signed on the side "Lambert Rucki". Christ: 13 x 11.7 cm, Cross: 21 x 15 x 4.3 cm. A friend of Kisling, Miklos, Survage and Czaky, Lambert-Rucki shared his studio with Modigliani when he arrived in Paris in 1911. During the 1920s and 1930s, he collaborated with Jean Dunand, worked with decorator and cabinetmaker Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann and became a member of the U.A.M. in 1930. In the following decade, he turned his attention to sacred art, creating a number of religious works revolving around the Christ figure. From 1938 until after the war, he participated in the Salon d'Art Sacré. The Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne-Billancourt holds several works by Lambert-Rucki.
