There is also a bronze version produced by the Busato foundry in an edition of seven. To date, another terracotta sculpture, probably from the same series and dated 1921, is known to exist. Vadim Androusov, born in St. Petersburg, Russia, arrived in Paris in 1920. He attended Antoine Bourdelle's studio at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, where he developed a style influenced by antiquity and classicism. In 1925, he opened his own studio and took part in the Salon des Tuileries, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants. In 1936, he began a long collaboration with cabinetmaker and decorator André Arbus, creating numerous decorative elements for his furniture (Tête de Méduse, Lion, Masque soleil, Cavalier), sconces, door handles, lamp bases and floor lamps. At the 1937 Exposition Internationale, he was commissioned to create a fountain. In the 1960s, he created bas-reliefs and sculptures for public buildings, including the École Normale d'Agen (6 large terracotta reliefs).
