Camille Lefèvre (1853-1933) Portrait of a young woman White marble bust Signed on the back "C. Lefevre" and dated "1877". H. 49 cm including red marble base H. 9.5 cm After training with a wood sculptor, Camille Lefèvre moved to Paris, where he entered the École des Arts Décoratifs before joining the studios of Pierre-Jules Cavelier and Aimé Millet at the École des Beaux-Arts. He takes part in urban development projects and competitions for the erection of commemorative monuments. At the same time, Camille Lefèvre produced numerous portraits of his family and friends, as well as of private clients. On his death in 1933, his studio and collections were bequeathed to the museums of Belfort.
