Alfred Boucher (1850-1934) Bust of the Florentine Sculptor White marble relief Signed "A. BOUCHER H. 29.3 cm In 1883, Alfred Boucher produced two versions of Le Sculpteur florentin, inspired by Paul Dubois' Chanteur florentin. The first version depicts the young sculptor working on a rough-cut statuette, while the second shows him tackling a block of marble. He presented a bronze of the first version at the 1888 Salon.
