Lacquered wood group, the kimonos decorated in gold hira maki-e lacquer and inlaid with aogai, the heads, arms and legs in ivory, a samurai-archer and his son or attendant; the rectangular wooden base decorated in hira maki-e lacquer with stylized dragon and chimera motifs; the removable bow, two wooden and ivory targets on the base (one detached); the base of the quiver is slightly missing, the arrowheads are slightly missing. Signed Gusho in a cartouche inlaid with aogai on the two figures. Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912).
