With the Fontaine Contrepoint, Jean Letourneur continues the aesthetic research into the flow of water begun with Surface de discontinuité (cat. no. 182 and 183).
A total work of art, the Fontaine Contrepoint features a dialogue between a sculpted cascade and a real waterfall, whose music activates another of our senses. Its structure is based on the Modulor, a human-scale measurement system created by Le Corbusier in 1945 based on the golden ratio. The sculpted cascade of the Fontaine Contrepoint later gave rise to a large 210 cm-high blue-patinated stone, installed in 2008 at the entrance to the Clamart cemetery.
