René LETOURNEUR (1898-1990) Study for mast base 1966 Original plaster 20 x 20 x 20 cm This Étude pour l'embase de mât and the Colonne, étude pour le mât (cat. no. 80) were executed as part of a project for the Lycée Alain in Alençon. The finished bronze work, approximately 150 cm high, differs from these two studies. The Étude pour l'embase de mât gave rise to a marble candlestick kept in the artist's family.
