René LETOURNEUR (1898-1990) Study 1 for The Republic of Lorient Town Hall 1958 Original plaster 31 x 10 x 11 cm Two Étude pour La République are featured in this sale (see cat. no. 63). Commissioned for the Lorient town hall, the work was completed in 1958. La République, a large 230 cm bronze, is placed in the salon des mariages on a plinth that reinforces its hieratic appearance.
