VALSUANI CIRE PERDUE" on the back of the terrace H. 46 cm Influenced by the realistic style of Jean-François Millet, Constantin Meunier and Aimé-Jules Dalou, Henri Bouchard specialized in depictions of rural and working-class subjects. La Vendangeuse à la Layotte was undoubtedly inspired by Bouchard's memories of his native Burgundy countryside.
