Georges Gardet (1863-1939) Two young lions Bronze with red-brown patina Signed "G. GARDET" on the front of the terrace Bears the founder's stamp "SIOT PARIS" and the number "89 E". H. 39 cm, terrace W. 51 x D. 24 cm Georges Gardet trained with Aimé Millet and Emmanuel Frémiet. The fine bronze editions of his animal groups, executed by several foundrymen, reflect the sculptor's considerable success at the Salon, where he exhibited from 1883 to 1914.
