Emaki-mono, ink and color drawing on paper depicting a succession of erotic scenes; mounted in a scroll. Two red cinnabar stamps. Folds, wear and light tears. Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912). Circa 590 x 26 cm. Provenance: acquired by the present owner's great-grandfather, General Etienne de VILLARET, then at the beginning of his career as Military Attaché to the Japanese Embassy in Tokyo, at the end of the 19th century, and in the family by descent.
