Porcelain VASQUE decorated with polychrome enamels in the green family style; on the rim, alternating cartouches of genre scenes, palace scenes and "flowers and birds" themes, surmounted by a frieze of geometric motifs and cartouches of landscapes and dragons; inside, on the basin, a dragon grasping the sacred pearl; on the wing, unfurled dragons chasing the sacred pearl, surmounted by a frieze of geometric motifs and cartouches of garlands of flowers and dragons. China, Qing dynasty, 19th century. D. 59.5 to 62.5 cm H. 22.5 cm The diameter of this bowl is relatively irregular, due to its very large size and the fact that it was made by hand.
