Jules WIESE (1854-1880) Silver paperweight 1st titre 950‰, consisting of a sculpture representing L'ivresse du jeune Bacchus or La tempérance tentant de contenir l'ivresse du jeune Bacchus, the partially gilded base scandé of red stones and demi-perles on a domed sodalite terrace hemmed with ivy leaves and scrollwork on a black enamel ground. 19th-century French work, workshop hallmarks, traces of use, wear to gilding. L. 9.50 W. 7.70 H. 8.50 cm approx. Gross weight 360 g The carved group may be associated with the work of Clodion, Pradier or Froment-Meurice.
