Jean Abner Dubic (1944) Country ball Canvas Signed lower right 39 x 50 cm Jean Abner Dubic, better known as Abner Dubic, hails from Léôgane, Haiti, where he was born on November 17, 1944. He began his artistic career in 1966, under the guidance of painter Gabriel Lévèque. Dubic soon distinguished himself by his distinct style, concentrating on vast, realistic landscapes depicting rural life, field work and celebrations in Haiti. His technique is characterized by remarkable precision, crisp drawing and colors that are both vibrant and nuanced. In 1975, his work gained notoriety thanks to the interest of André Malraux and Jean Marie Drot, leading to exhibitions in Paris, Strasbourg and the United States.
