Arno Breker (1900-1991) The Aurora Bronze with bronze patina Signed "A. Breker" on the terrace Bears the founder's mark "GUSS BARTH BERLIN". H. 16 cm terrace W. 21.5 x D.5.5 cm This bronze is a reduction of the monumental sculpture L'Aurore created by Arno Breker for the Ehrenhof building in Düsseldorf in 1926. The son of a sculptor, Arno Breker entered the Düsseldorf School of Fine Arts in 1919, before moving to Paris in 1925, where he trained with Despiau and admired the work of Maillol. of Maillol. After a stay in Italy, he returned to Germany in 1937. Influenced by the canons of ancient Greece, he sculpted athletic figures.
