François Pompon (1855-1933) Sleeping rooster Model created before 1914; published by Hébrard between 1918 and 1932; our example executed on June 24, 1925 Bronze with brown patina Signed "POMPON" on the terrace Bears the founder's stamp "CIRE PERDUE A.A. HEBRARD" and numbered "(9)". H. 21 x L. 31 cm A total of 46 executed between 1918 and 1932, numbered 1 to 10, then A1 to A10, up to D6. In 1914, François Pompon, who was not mobilized for the war, left for Cuy, where he exhibited a plaster rooster under number 4271, as well as a hen, a goose and a guinea fowl, at the Salon des artistes français. At the time, he was domiciled with Hébrard.
