René Paris (1881-1970) Scratch Bronze with brown patina Signed "René Paris 8-51 U". Stamped "CIRE PERDUE A. VALSUANI Titled "SCRATCH H. 34.5 x terrace L. 36 x W. 9.8 cm, on a black Belgian marble base H. 5.5 x W. 44.5 x D. 13 cm Small chip to base Trained by Isidore Bonheur and Mathurin Moreau, René Paris worked alongside Georges Gardet and Victor Peter. A precocious talent, he exhibited at the age of sixteen at the Salon from 1897 and at the Salon des artistes animaliers from 1913.
