Michel RABILLON (Piolene 1733 - Paris 1786) - Lot 33
Michel RABILLON (Piolene 1733 - Paris 1786) Presumed portrait of Henri de Raoulx de Raousset- Boulbon (Avignon 1763-1846) Pastel. Signed and dated lower left Rabillon/pinxit/1765. 64 x 52 cm Accepted by the Académie de Saint-Luc in 1774, it is likely that Michel Rabillon was a pupil of Van Loo. His contemporaries appreciated him more as a pastellist than as a canvas painter. He was also an excellent miniaturist.
