Accompanied by a text by Mr. Albéric Second, Louis Lurine, Clément Caraguel, Taxile Delord, H. de Beaulieu, Louis Huart, Charles Monselet, Julien Lemer. Preceded by a notice on Grandville by Mr. Charles Blanc. New edition. Revised and completed by Mr. Jules Janin, with numerous caps, headpieces, etc. Paris, Garnier Frères, 1869. In-8, half red morocco, covers of chagrin-grained percaline decorated with a quadruple framing of cold fillet, spine ribbed with gilt caissons, gilt edges, spotting on a third of the volume not affecting the hors-texte, scattered foxing - [2 ff.], LVIII, 480 pp. title-frontispiece and 70 color engravings by Grandville, numerous vignettes in text. Impressive zoomorphic caricatures by which Grandville tracks, with his sharp and uncompromising eye, the vices and small miseries of the human race. 2/ Small miseries of the human life.
