[Guadeloupe] - Set of photographs on albumen paper, mounted on cardboard. Era 1860-1871. 1/ - Eugène Lamoisse (1824-1899, arrived in Guadeloupe in 1844). With the dry stamp of his office in Pointe-à-Pitre (he owned 2 others, in Fort-de-France and in San Juan de Puerto Rico) and captioned in ink, representing the damage caused by a hurricane in Pointe-à-Pitre and in Marie-Galante [c.1860-1870]. - 8 plates in 11 x 16.5 cm format. - 4 pictures in the format 18,5 x 25,5 cm. We enclose a photograph of Basse-Terre (19,5 x 27,7 cm) not captioned, taken, it seems, before the damages. 2/ - A. Schmidt. 10 photographs on albumen paper and mounted on cardboard. All captioned and signed with the name of the photographer (amateur or professional?). Size of the photo 10,2 to 12,2 x 15,8 to 17 cm. - 6 pictures of Pointe-à-Pitre and 1 picture of Basse-Terre taken in 1870. - 3 pictures of Pointe-à-Pitre taken after the fire of 18/07/1871 3/ - 6 unsigned photographs taken in Guadeloupe including 1 animated shot of coconut grove, 1 animated shot of departure to the fields. We join : 4/ - A group photo showing the officers of the frigate "La Semiramis" gathered under and on the poop deck. A total of 29 people of which 24 are identified by a handwritten note attached. The presence of Rear Admiral Baron Méquet (appointed Rear Admiral in 1865, then Major General in Brest and Commander-in-Chief of the West Indies Division in 1867) indicates that this photo dates from the period 1865-1867 (size 19.8 x 26.4 cm). 5/ - Animated photo of 7 canaques taken in front of a hut. On the back, handwritten inscription "Case des étrangers d'un village canaque, Canala (Nouvelle-Calédonie)". Format 14,9 x 20,5 cm
