Walther, Charles-Louis (1819-1902). - Report on the cholera epidemic in Guadeloupe (1865-1866). Paris, Libr. Militaire L. Baudoin et Cie, 1885. in-8 paperback - 398 pp. and a large color folding map of Guadeloupe (75 x 105 cm). A folio volume, covered with a green velvet (slightly moth-eaten) composed of 100 handwritten sheets (210 pp. numbered, some of them blank) is enclosed. This document realized by Walther is a cleanup of all the elements collected on the period 1865-1866, on the whole of the zone touched by the epidemic concerning the topography of the places, the meteorology, the hygiene of the inhabitants, the previous epidemics and endemics, the denominations of the existing disease according to the doctors, the general history of the disease, the march and the duration of the epidemic, the cadaveric searches, the treatments, the statistics on the population. This analysis scheme was used by Walther to collect from all the physicians the information that allowed him to write his report. A few manuscripts on plain paper or on paper are attached.
