After the death of the governor of Senegal, Thomas Renault de Saint-Germain, he assumed the functions of acting governor for a few weeks, from October 18, 1833 until the arrival of Commander Quernel on November 15, 1833, who became governor while waiting for the appointment of Pujol to this position in February 1834, and then of Malavois, appointed on April 9, 1835. He left his functions in Senegal on 17/04/1835, to be appointed to Guadeloupe where he was named commissioner of the Navy 2nd class (24/05/1839). He moved to Cayenne as commissioner of Guyana (18/12/1839) where he was promoted to commissioner of 1st class (17/02/1843).
