Nemours, Château-Musée de Nemours, 6 November 2010 - 10 April 2011, 2010, model repr. p. 8. A student of Lequien and Jouffroy, Justin-Chrysostome Sanson won the Premier Prix de Rome in 1861. The plaster model of our Suzanne au bain was made in 1867 in Rome during his last year of boarding school. Presented at the Salon of 1868, the State commissioned the artist in marble in 1873. Sanson was commissioned for major works such as the Louvre, the Opera and the Hôtel de Ville.
