RF2956 In the 1880s and 1890s, Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, known for his work as a press cartoonist and committed poster artist, worked around the figure of the cat. He painted, drew, engraved and sculpted the animal, often his own cats that he had collected in his house in Montmartre. Steinlen understands the independent psychology of this feline and offers us true cat portraits.
