In-8 bound in half morocco basane, smooth spine decorated with a beautiful gilt historical decoration with a central decoration of an elephant with palanquin in front of a palace with minarets surrounded by 2 bush scenes (crocodile and cervicapre antelope) and a motif mixing musical instrument, kriss and mahout's spade - scattered freckles mainly in the margins of the engravings - [3 ff.], 290 pp. and [1 f. table]. Work illustrated with 22 steel engravings h-t drawn by Danniel. Book dedicated to Madras, Bombay and New Delhi. Attached: Lapie, P. - Map of the British Isles or United Kingdom of Great Britain and Iceland. 2nd edition. Paris, the author and Picquet, 1814. Set of 5 canvas folding maps presented in a titled box (red label). Each map measures 55,5 x 82,5 cm and has coloured outlines. Good condition.
