Russian document]. Document prepared on the occasion of the - Lot 144
Russian document]. Document prepared on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of a "Portland" cement factory founded in Rostov on the Don. Folio wallet (49 x 31.3 cm) covered with wine-red velvet with silver metal lettering and the dates 1898-1908, wine-red moire silk counterpane. Inside, a cardboard, held by 4 silk loops, is decorated with an allegorical gouache motif of a young girl holding a torch in one hand and a barrel in the other, on which the last letters of the word "cement" are written. The cement factory represented in the background is on the edge of the river Don and the artist has represented a cargo ship and a piece of equipment for the aerial transport of cement by cable. The whole drawing is accompanied by branches and golden motifs. The accompanying text written in black and red letters is addressed to a certain René Ludvigoch (?), perhaps the director of the cement factory. The document is signed by the artist and by 15 people, probably from the management of the factory.
