Alfredo PINA (1883-1966) Maternal care Circa 1922. Bronze with light brown patina shaded with green. Signed A. Pina on the left in the drape. Bears the mark of the founder F. BARBEDIENNE.PARIS and the mention CIRE PERDUE. H. 42 cm RELATED LITERATURE : - Florence Rionnet, Les Bronzes Barbedienne. L'œuvre d'une dynastie de fondeurs, 1834-1954, Paris, Arthena, 2016, model listed under cat. 1284, p. 406. Originally from Milan, he trained at the Brera Academy where he won the grand prize for sculpture, before moving to Paris in 1911. He made his debut at the Salon in 1912. Some sources state that he collaborated with Rodin.
