Just d'EGMONT (Leiden 1601 - Antwerp 1674) - Lot 45
Just d'EGMONT (Leiden 1601 - Antwerp 1674) Portrait of a warlord, probably Turenne, Marshal of France Web 119 x 89.5 cm Restorations. Inscribed on the reverse side R.1225. PROVENANCE : Maurice de Rothschild collection. Our painting can be compared to the Portrait du Grand Condé, in front of the battlefield of Rocroi painted by Juste d'Egmont and kept at the Musée de l'Armée in Paris. Louis II de Bourbon is represented there with an antique cuirass decorated with stones, similar to the one in our portrait.
