Raymond RIVOIRE (1884-1966) Nude with horseshoe Bronze with a brown patina. Signed R. Rivoire and bears the stamp of the foundryman "Colin Paris" on the left side of the iron. Dedicated on the horseshoe A R. Porteau / His colleagues 1932. H. 16 cm high In this Horseshoe Nude, Raymond Rivoire, a student of Jean-Antoine Injalbert, combines two of his main sources from inspiration : female nudes and equestrian sports. Indeed, he presented a great number of his nudes at the various Salons in which he participated from 1905 and where he won a gold medal in 1929 (Salon des artistes français). He also made trophies for the Jockey club of Buenos Aires between 1910 and 1912, during his first stay in South America.
