NEVERS, early 19th century SALADIER PATRONYMIQUE with contoured gadrooned edges, polychrome decoration in the middle of the Nevers bridge with eight arches, sunny with a lamppost, eight passers-by around and the toll booth, underneath many boats are sailing. In the centre Saint Peter carrying the keys and the Virgin and Child holding his scepter with fleurs-de-lis, they are standing on a leafy mound. The inscription below, Peter. 1823. Mary. On the left, a sailor's ink and the initial F in manganese. Below, on the edge of the dish, a train of six Loire boats consisting of four gabares with square sails hoisted, followed by two boats with barrels and numerous bargemen on the manoeuvre.
