All the illustrations in double state, one in colour with remarks and the other in bistre. Edition of 100 numbered copies, 1/75 on vélin du Marais (n° 32) signed by the two artists. First edition. Occurred on May 11, 1745 during the War of Austrian Succession, the battle of Fontenoy which took place in the presence of Louis XV and the Dauphin was a brilliant victory of the Marshal of Saxony at the head of the French troops. A beautiful evocation by Albert de Broglie (1821-1901), diplomat and historian as well as admirable stylist. The volume was produced under the direction of Paul Réveilhac, art lover and co-founder of the Société Normande du Livre Illustré who had it printed in Évreux by Hérissey. A superb copy in a spectacular fleurdelys binding.
