1/ - The book of Ruth, translated from the Holy Bible by Lemaître de Sacy. Paris, Hachette, 1876. 1 vol. in-folio, bound in red percaline, first plate decorated with a large plaque framing the title in a medallion carried by two intersecting palms surmounted by a winged cartouche bearing the motto "I liber atque doce", the whole framed by a border formed by two large black and gilt fillets, intertwining in the corners to form spandrels from which emerge ears of wheat (plaque by A. Souze) - corners pierced, headbands damaged, lack of percaline on the edges, lack of a cover. Souze) - corners pierced, headpieces damaged, lack of calf cloth on the edges, damp stains on the second board, spine partly torn - 2 ff. not headed, 13 pp. and 1 blank ff., 9 plates drawn by Alexandre Bida, engraved by Edmond Hédouin and Claude-Marcel Hytte. Beautiful interpretation of the book of Ruth in the very classical translation of Isaac Louis Lemaître de Sacy, close to Port-Royal and in the inspired drawings of the orientalist painter Bida. Pleasant album in spite of the reported defects.

Paris, Durlacher, 1884. 1 vol. large folio, red percaline portfolio, first plate decorated with a very large frame of palmettes surrounding an oval medallion bearing the title, gilt spandrels - first plate detached over most of its height, inner flaps detached and repaired with tape, moisture stains on 2nd board, boards rolled on edges, some soiled and foxed - frontispiece and 16 plates in gravure after the illustrations of Cérémonies et coutumes religieuses de tous les peuples (1723). Beautiful iconographic documentation on the religious customs and practices of the Jews of the 18th century.

Paris, Félix Alcan, 1912. 1 vol. in-8; half-bound in olive morocco, smooth spine decorated with azure irons and gilt fillets drawing two cartouches, gilt head, covers and spine preserved (Creuzevault) - spine unsealed - VI, 312 pp. 2 photographic portraits in frontispiece, 2 portraits out of text. Sent by the author to Jacques Helbronner. A biography of the chief rabbi of France who took an active part in the rehabilitation of Dreyfus, written by his son-in-law who was chief rabbi of Paris.

Metz, Joseph Antoine, 1767. 1 vol. in-folio, cardboard binding covered with marbled paper - spine cracked, corners pierced, spines pierced, headbands worn out - 97 ff. Text in Hebrew, mostly on two columns. Rabbinical commentary on the Talmudic tractates Zeva'him (Zevachim) and Mene'hot (Menachos) entitled The Source of Gardens. A rare Messinian printing that we have not located at the CCFR.
