Text in Latin and aphorisms in Greek. Jean Bouillet (1690-1777), who was at the same time a doctor, a mathematician and an astronomer, was one of the founders of the Academy of Béziers, of which he was the real animator. He was a very active editor of the Journal des Savants and contributed a few articles to the Encyclopédie. In his Éléments de Médecine-pratique, he studied the influence of the climate on the diseases observed in his town. A nice copy enriched with a letter from the author to the archbishop of Toulouse.
