Louis THEVENON COLLECTION Louis Thevenon (1920-1978) was a model-maker of excellence recognized by his peers, and a member of AFAC (Association Française des Amis des Chemin de fer). From the 50's to the 70's, he produced unique pieces (0 and 1 scale). Starting from SNCF plans, he built each model from scratch, from brass sheet to paint, with the exception of the wheels, which he entrusted to a foundry. The collection includes locomotives and wagons (passenger and freight), pylons, a bridge crane, a water tower, signals... plus a biplane and a boat. The locomotives are steam-powered. Some of his railroad creations have won awards at trade shows and exhibitions. He shared his passion with André Ravery, and together they worked as railway technical advisors on the set of Jean-François Davy's film "Chaussette surprise" in 1977. Mr. Ravery, a railway worker since his teens, ended his career as sous-chef of the Gare de Lyon in Paris. He was also in charge of the SNCF's model railroad department, the railroad workers' welfare scheme and co-owner of the little train at Cap-Ferret. Bernard Blier, a friend and railroad enthusiast, would ask him for advice when he had a scene to play in a station. Louis Thevenon built a railway layout (scale 1) in the garden of the level crossing acquired by André Ravery in Chauffour. Numerous 8mm films and photos bear witness to this. Louis Thevenon's trains are unique pieces, works of art for exceptional collectors.
